Not having any idea what it did, we simply shrugged and assumed it was some type of venting for the garage or perhaps used to help keep the water pipes from freezing.
Innocently we told jack the pipe was empty as he worked on our electrical wiring.
We figured it out before Jack began to cut into the pipe. Despite the fact that our electrical service is buried from meter to garage, the previous owner decided to run the main service cables vertically up the outside wall and on through attic spaces. This flexible six inch pipe held that main service cable.
Thank God Jack didn't,t take our word for it and just cut away...
