At last...water turned on at Lake Lafayette homes

Last Sunday, longtime Lake Lafayette residents, John and Geraldine Roberts, celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary.
But the best present they received was not until the next day, at approximately 2 p.m. Monday, when they finally got running water at their home from their community's own municipal water system.
To say that it was a long time coming is an understatement.
John Roberts says that when they originally purchased their property, the developer told them a water system would be installed by the next April.
After clearing their lot, the Robertses moved into their Lake Lafayette home at 1647 Redbud on September 1, 1973.
So, by John's calculation, they have only waited 37 years, 5 months, and 21 days to get what they were originally promised...running water. Read more in The Odessan.
