Once at the lake we picked a spot for the fire pit and laid out our concrete base. This Sunday it will be dry enough to mortar in the chimney liners around the inner circle and then the natural field stone for the rest.
Two drains will be added low in the wall downslope and silica sand placed on the bottom. Lastly the sextangonal? flagstones Pulled from the courtyard will be used as capstone around the pit's top and we will be done!
Maybe a bit lopsided but I plan to compensate when adding the fieldstones.
