We have just struck a deal to purchase the property next to ours! We needed this land because of the odd nature of the property boundaries of ours and the adjoining lots. Our eastern property line slants in from the street cutting through our back yard - actually extending behind our house down to the lake.
We have been using the next door property (which has no structures and appears abandoned) to drive through, store materials, etc hoping the owners wouldn't mind. Now they won't cause the owners are US!
Woohoo! This now extends our total property to nearly half an acre and gives the boys more room to play in the woods, hunt (yes hunt!) and install hammocks and treehouses.
Also, now owning two adjacent lots gives us the right to build on the property.
