Front Deck Structure

People are asking me what this picture is showing.    This is the underside of the front deck.  When the rotted decking was removed it revealed more rot in the headers, ledgers and joist.  These pictures are to remind us how the deck is constructed so we can figure out a game plan.

Our first concern was the rotted joists but Debbie called attention to the column supports on the right side which support the first iron i-beam.  She thinks they support the beam, I suspect they only support the wall structure of the underdeck space.  I will have to take a closer look and figure out what our approach is.

It's possible that these columns would support the endmost portion of the main i-beam supports, but this is a manufactured home and I am thinking that this beam should be the only support needed.  If anyone reading this has any ideas please feel free to email deb or i.

Purchased 44 5/4 x 6 x 8 deck boards $165.00  Plan on ripping down beams found on the property to create joists, headers and ledger boards.  These beams are 24 feet long and 2x20 and there are about 5 or 6 of them.  Left out in the weather for who knows how long... damn shame
