Electical

Dale:

We are still on for this coming thursday - will you be able to make it?

We are considering doing more than we had initially proposed on this first run - wiring a few more outlets or perhaps a room and adding a circuit for an attic fan.

But we need more information from you on what you can and can't do and how much time may be required. We also have questions we hope you can answer about the current electrical service.

From living there with Susan for a period of time we assume you are more than somewhat familiar with the fuse panels and wiring. To our eyes the wiring is a nightmare. Pulling down the ceiling panels shows patch after patch - all probably out of code. The fuse panels we were told were being upgraded but neither one appears to be completely connected and what is connected is odd, e.g. the outer fuse panel providing service to the master bedroom and the inner panel powering the garage?

Our questions are:

1) Is there any reason why we can't just rewire the existing fuse panel in the master bedroom and disregard/disable the other panel? Or vice versa?

2) Is there any advantage to simply wiring one entire room at a time over doing what we initially asked (providing reliable service to 4 outlets throughout the house)?

3) Are you intending on pulling cable through the house using the existing cable? Or can we remove all the cables we have tested to currently be without power?

4) There are only a couple circuit breakers in the inside panel. Should we purchase more prior to your service visit?

5) Would a circuit map be useful? I have been working on mapping out where we want all services, electrical, plumbing etc. If a copy would be useful to you let me know.
Thanks
Dave
